At Cathy’s Village, your child’s safety is at the heart of everything we do. We know children learn and grow best when they feel healthy, comfortable, and secure. Our team takes every precaution to create a safe environment where families can feel confident leaving their little ones in our care.
Here’s how we protect and care for your child every day:
Caring Staff You Can Trust
- Every adult caring for children is fingerprint-cleared, CPR-certified, and trained in first aid.
- Our team is committed to protecting children and is legally required to report any concerns about safety or well-being.
Health & Wellness for All
- Children must be up to date on immunizations before joining our community—this helps us keep everyone safe and healthy.
- If a child isn’t feeling well our staff will let you know right away and ask that they rest at home until they’re ready to return.
- To keep our floors safe and clean for little explorers, shoes are removed at the front door.
When Your Child Needs Rest at Home
Sometimes, the best place for healing is at home. We’ll ask children to stay home or go home early if:
- Infants under 4 months have any fever.
- Children 4 months or older have a fever of 99.5°F or higher without fever reducers.
- They’ve had two or more bouts of vomiting in 24 hours.
- They’ve had three or more episodes of diarrhea in 24 hours.
- They have an unexplained rash, eye infection, or other symptoms that could be contagious.
Children can return once they’ve been fever-free or symptom-free for at least 24 hours, or with a doctor’s note.
Nutrition & Food Safety
- We follow licensing guidelines: serving 1% milk to children over age two, encouraging water throughout the day.
- Outside food isn’t allowed unless approved by staff, to help protect children with allergies or special dietary needs.
- Breastfeeding families are welcome! Milk should be labeled with your child’s name and the date.
Medication & Special Care
- Medications must come in their original containers, clearly labeled with your child’s name. We’ll also ask you to complete a short form so we can give the right dose at the right time.
- For some medications, we may also need a doctor’s note.
- Please note: licensing does not allow staff to administer insulin.
Injuries & Emergencies
- For small scrapes or bumps, we’ll clean, cover, and let you know what happened.
- If a bigger emergency ever occurs, we’ll call you right away—and if necessary, emergency services too. (Parents are responsible for ambulance costs.)
- We’ll keep families updated on important illnesses in our community, while respecting everyone’s privacy.
✨ At Cathy’s Village, we take health and safety seriously—so your child can focus on what matters most: playing, learning, and growing in a happy, secure environment.
